Lens
This prescription lens package will be fitted into your chosen eyewear and quality control checked by Eyekit prior to dispatch to ensure the quality and accuracy of your prescription. It comprises the following as summarised in the title:
Driving Varifocals - These personalised progressive lenses incorporate a power distribution across the lens specifically adapted for driving. Most driving time is spent looking ahead, which requires wide, clear visual fields. However, the eyes also have to shift quickly between different viewing distances with minimal head movements: from the road to the navigation device, from the mirrors to the dashboard. Focusing and refocusing can be especially challenging for mature drivers. Driving varifocal lenses provides maximised distance and intermediate zones and a smaller near zone. They also incorporate a night vision zone for greater visual quality and less fatigue when driving at night. Many general varifocal lenses by contrast can make it uncomfortable to drive having an inadequate distance visual field or limited peripheral vision.
Thin & Lite Lenses - These 'Thin & Lite' lenses are thinner and lighter than our standard 'Lifestyle' prescription lenses. They reduce the edge thickness in minus prescriptions and the centre thickness in plus prescriptions. This makes the lenses thinner and lighter to wear for both types of prescriptions while maintaining their optical performance. Recommended for prescriptions where your prescription is between 2 and 4 spheres.
Performance - These are high definition (HD) varifocal lenses use the latest free-form technology. They use a digital design process that gives lens designers the ability to reduce lens aberrations even more than they can using conventional lens design and processing techniques with the Premium option. Lighter and thinner than standard lenses they provide exceptional night/low light vision reducing glare and halo effects from car headlights. They also offer exceptional contrast perception sharpening vision and improved colour rendition providing brighter and more intense colours. This is particularly important for varifocals and highly curved lenses as it ensures they provide the best vision across the whole curvature of the lens avoiding optical distortions that can occur in the periphery area of vision.
Photochromic - Also known as 'Transition' or 'Reaction' lens filters, photochromic lenses are a state-of-the-art, high contrast, light reactive lens that changes lens tint density with the changing light conditions providing comfortable vision whatever the light intensity.
Lens Category - Choose from 2 options:
Crystal Drive - Specifically designed for those who drive, offering improved comfort in all driving conditions with improved comfort during the day and night. The lens coating offers the highest transmission across the visible spectrum but does reduce the overall amount of blue light entering the eye. There is a slight filter to achieve this but the lens still remains almost clear. Key benefits:
Specification:
Prescription strength of up to a combined maximum power of +8.00 to -8.00. That is the combined power of your sphere and cylinders together must not be more that +8.00 to -8.00 for this frame.

Please Note: After you have placed your order we will send the frame out to you for you to make sure they fit correctly and also for you to take a picture wearing them. We need a picture so that we can accurately measure your pupil from the base of the lens when you are comfortably wearing them. We will provide instructions on how to do this.

Prescription Orders
Over 95% of orders dispatched are delivered within the timeframes stated above, however, due to the nature of the glazing process, we can not guarantee specific delivery dates on prescription orders. Prescription lenses are made to very high standards with low tolerance for errors and are rigorously checked at all stages of production. Any error in the prescription across the lens, deficiencies in the coating or blemishes that cannot be removed means the lens would need to go back in production and re-made. All prescription lenses are also rigorously checked at Eyekit before dispatch and any errors will mean that the lenses as sent back to the glazer for replacing. We have a zero tolerance for errors to ensure our customers receive prescription eyewear to the highest standards and we will not compromise on these standards even if it means delivering eyewear later than expected.
