Description

This prescription lens package will be fitted into your chosen eyewear and quality control checked by Eyekit prior to dispatch to ensure the quality and accuracy of your prescription. It comprises the following as summarised in the title:

Driving Varifocals - These personalised progressive lenses incorporate a power distribution across the lens specifically adapted for driving. Most driving time is spent looking ahead, which requires wide, clear visual fields. However, the eyes also have to shift quickly between different viewing distances with minimal head movements: from the road to the navigation device, from the mirrors to the dashboard. Focusing and refocusing can be especially challenging for mature drivers. Driving varifocal lenses provides maximised distance and intermediate zones and a smaller near zone. They also incorporate a night vision zone for greater visual quality and less fatigue when driving at night. Many general varifocal lenses by contrast can make it uncomfortable to drive having an inadequate distance visual field or limited peripheral vision.

Vista Mesh - These anti-glare lenses are made from a unique lens formulation called Vista Mesh. They are mid index lenses which are lighter and thinner than standard CR39 lenses. As the name implies, they incorporate a micro-mesh filter which acts in the same way as a polarising filter in sunglasses - the big difference is the Vista Mesh lens are designed to be used indoors under artificial light or for night driving. They allow 90% light transmission and have a slight brown tint. These lenses have been designed to align scattered reflections, dampen flicker and block electromagnetic radiation. They are ideal for those who suffer from visual stress, headaches, visual blindness caused by glare from car headlights, PSE or Dyslexia.

Lifestyle Lenses - These lenses are made from high quality CR39 resin which is the most common optical material for prescription glasses today. They provide very little distortion and are lighter and thinner than glass making them comfortable to wear. They are not recommended for impact sports/work environments as they can break.

High Definition - The High Definition Varifocal lenses are the best and latest lens designs on the market today. They offer all the advantages of the ‘Performance’ lenses but are optimised in such a way that they provides a wider distance, intermediate and near area.

They use the latest free-form technology, a digital design process that gives lens designers the ability to reduce lens aberrations even more than they can using conventional lens design and processing techniques with the standard option. Lighter and thinner than standard lenses they provide exceptional night/low light vision reducing glare and halo effects from car headlights. They also offer exceptional contrast perception sharpening vision and improved colour rendition providing brighter and more intense colours. This is particularly important for varifocals and highly curved lenses as it ensures they provide the best vision across the whole curvature of the lens avoiding optical distortions that can occur in the periphery area of vision.

Prescription lenses are made to very high standards with low tolerance for errors and are rigorously checked at all stages of production. Any error in the prescription across the lens, deficiencies in the coating or blemishes that cannot be removed means the lens would need to go back in production and re-made. All prescription lenses are also rigorously checked at Eyekit before dispatch and any errors will mean that the lenses as sent back to the glazer for replacing. We have a zero tolerance for errors to ensure our customers receive prescription eyewear to the highest standards and we will not compromise on these standards even if it means delivering eyewear later than expected.
