Description

This prescription lens package will be fitted into your chosen eyewear and quality control checked by Eyekit prior to dispatch to ensure the quality and accuracy of your prescription. It comprises the following as summarised in the title:

General Varifocal- These are the most common varifocal lenses on the market. They offer balanced progression from near, intermediate and distance vision. Ideal for the office and everyday wear.

  • Distance Vision- Wide and distortion free far vision zone. Range - To infinity
  • Intermediate Vision- Power profiles specifically designed for todays modern lifestyles and the frequent use of digital devices. Range 50-70cm
  • Near Vision- Designed to minimise head tilts for a comfortable reading prescription - Range 30-50cm
  • Peripheral Vision- Medium vision across the height of the lens.

Lifestyle Lenses - These CR39 single vision resin lenses have been developed for the protective eyewear market and have increased robustness (Grade S) compared to normal CR39 lenses. These lenses conform to BS EN 166 S. They are ideal for working in hazardous areas or with machinery that is completely guarded. They are not suitable when working in areas where flying particles could be a hazard.

Performance - These are high definition (HD) lenses which use the latest free-form technology. They use a digital design process that gives lens designers the ability to reduce lens aberrations even more than they can using conventional lens design and processing techniques with the Premium option. Lighter and thinner than standard lenses they provide exceptional night/low light vision reducing glare and halo effects from car headlights. They also offer exceptional contrast perception sharpening vision and improved colour rendition providing brighter and more intense colours. This is particularly important for varifocals and highly curved lenses as it ensures they provide the best vision across the whole curvature of the lens avoiding optical distortions that can occur in the periphery area of vision.

Photochromic -Also known as 'Transition' or 'Reaction' lens filters, are a state-of-the-art, high contrast, light reactive lens that changes lens tint density with the changing light conditions providing comfortable vision whatever the light intensity.

Lens Category Cat. 0 to 2. With a visible light transmission of 95% to 18%, they are ideal for wearing in very low light conditions such as experienced in rain and fog to partially cloudy/sunny days. Ideal for wearers who require clear lenses indoors and at night that provide comfort and convenience by darkening outdoors dependent on the light conditions.

Safety- Protective Eyewear is CE marked against the P.P.E. Directive 1995, also meeting the requirements of BS EN 166:2002. All our prescription protective eyewear lenses will be marked Optical Class 1, as long as the requirements for ISO 8980 -1 and ISO 8980 - 2/ International Glazing Standard BSENISO 21987 are met. Our glazers work to ISO 9001:2000 and all products are licensed within the BSI kitemark scheme.

Prescription lenses are made to very high standards with low tolerance for errors and are rigorously checked at all stages of production. Any error in the prescription across the lens, deficiencies in the coating or blemishes that cannot be removed means the lens would need to go back in production and re-made. All prescription lenses are also rigorously checked at Eyekit before dispatch and any errors will mean that the lenses as sent back to the glazer for replacing. We have a zero tolerance for errors to ensure our customers receive prescription eyewear to the highest standards and we will not compromise on these standards even if it means delivering eyewear later than expected.
