Maui Jim got it's start in 1980 as a small company selling sunglasses on the beach in Lahaina, Hawaii. Seeing a need in the market for technology that could combat intense glare and harmful UV while bringing the brilliant colours of the island to life, Maui Jim engineered the revolutionary PolarizedPlus2 lens. Incorporated into seven new sunglass styles, their Classic Collection was introduced. Glare Elimination
Glare washes out colours, obscures detail and fatigues your eyes. PolarizedPlus2 lenses eliminate 99.9% of glare, allowing you to see the world at its brilliant best.

Hyper-Precise Polarization
Maui Jim fuse their premium polarizing film into the lens itself. The result is superior precision, absolute clarity, and a near complete elimination of glare reflected from any flat, smooth or shiny surface.
PolarizedPlu2 delivers the highest level of efficiency in blocking horizontal glare. Known as the most common glare, horizontal glare reflexts from any flat, smooth or shiny surface. Colours are introduced in the premium polarization film, and the polarization axis never changes, which allows your eyes to view unmatched colour, superior precision and elimination of glare.
Bi-Gradient Mirror
The original Maui Jim Bi-Gradient, the design of this protective flash coating was inspired by Inuit snow goggles. Applied to the top and bottom of the lens, the mirror squints for you to reduce the brightest light from above and below, allowing your eyes to relax.
The Inuit people of the artic traditionally hand crafted their eye protection from animal bone or antlers by carving horizontal slits across the front of the goggles. Fitted tightly to their faces, the goggles blocked out all glare by only allowing light to enter through the horizontal openings to prevent snow blindness. The same concept was used to flight the strong sun conditions found year-round in Maui.
Blue Hawaii Flash Mirror
Developed as a fashionable option for top-selling styles, Blue Hawaii provides a stylish new look that offers the same amazing colour enhancement and clarity as all other Maui Jim lenses. A blue flash mirror coating is applied to the outside surface of Maui Jim's PolarizedPlus2 Neutral Grey lens, which reduces the amount of light that passes through, eliminates glare and boosts colour.
Mauigradient
MauiGradient was developed as a stylish alternative to the Bi-Gradient Mirror. A darker application at the top of that gradually gets lighter moving down the lens so the appropriate amount of light is allowed to filter through certain areas, while less light filters through in places where protection.
Anti-Reflective Surface
Just as glare can affect the view in front of you, bounce-back glare from behind can cause the eyes to strain and impact your view of the world. This patented, essential treatment blocks reflected light and glare from behind, enhancing clarity and eliminating eye fatigue.
Neutral Grey
Offers the highest available light reduction for the richest colours and sharpest contrast.
HCL Bronze

Please allow up to two weeks for delivery of items that are out of stock or are prescription orders and up to three, in some cases 4 weeks for eyewear branded prescription orders. Orders that require multiple coatings might take an additional week dependent on the number of coatings required.
We are constantly monitoring the progress of all orders and will endeavour to dispatch your order within 10 working days or within the timeframe specified above for prescriptions. However, if this is not possible we will notify you by email and let you know the estimated delivery date.
If there is no one available to sign for your order, Royal Mail will leave a notification card and your order will be taken to your local post office where it will be available for collection. As an alternative, at checkout, you can change the delivery address to your workplace or another location where your parcel can be signed for.

Prescription Orders
Over 95% of orders dispatched are delivered within the timeframes stated above, however, due to the nature of the glazing process, we can not guarantee specific delivery dates on prescription orders. Prescription lenses are made to very high standards with low tolerance for errors and are rigorously checked at all stages of production. Any error in the prescription across the lens, deficiencies in the coating or blemishes that cannot be removed means the lens would need to go back in production and re-made. All prescription lenses are also rigorously checked at Eyekit before dispatch and any errors will mean that the lenses as sent back to the glazer for replacing. We have a zero tolerance for errors to ensure our customers receive prescription eyewear to the highest standards and we will not compromise on these standards even if it means delivering eyewear later than expected. Your eyesight is perhaps your most important sense and you deserve the best sight possible.
