Specialists in optical protection in risk environments, Julbo became part of mountaineering history by proposing the first glasses to be used on glaciers. Since then Julbo has been working with highly demanding sports men and women to develop lenses that are perfectly suited to each type of use. These include collaboration with Team Julbo athletes (Enak Gavaggio, Franck Cammas, etc.) and professionals from the Ecole Nationale de Ski et d' Alpinisme (ENSA, the French National School of Skiing and Mountaineering) and the Ecole Nationale de Voile (ENV– the National Sailing School), technical advisers for the development and refinement of the products. With such collaborative assistance, Julbo generates innovations each year, developing new frame concepts to meet new sporting requirements.

An independent family-run firm, Julbo was founded in 1888 by Jules Baud. Since then they have emerged as a manufacturer of multi-sport eyewear for elite outdoor athletes as well as mainstream users, they are also an acknowledged leader in children's sunglasses - eyewear that incorporates world-renowned optical quality with a new, bold sense of style.
