It comprises the following as summarised in the title:
Julbo - Julbo branded prescription lenses.
SV- Single Vision. Ideal if you only require either Distance, Reading or Intermediate vision only.
Super Sports Lenses- Made from a unique material called NXT, it optimises the qualities of standard CR39, Mid-Index and polycarbonate prescription lenses while leaving out their inherent weaknesses. In fact, these lenses do not have any weaknesses. Originally made for the windscreens of apache gunships, it will stop a bullet! Its transparency and stability over time are exceptional (no cracking). It is ultra-light, has exceptional optics, is unbreakable and solvent-resistant.
High Definition - These are high definition (HD) lenses which use the latest free-form technology. They use a digital design process that gives lens designers the ability to reduce lens aberrations even more than they can using conventional lens design and processing techniques with the Performance option. Lighter and thinner than standard lenses they provide exceptional night/low light vision reducing glare and halo effects from car headlights. They also offer exceptional contrast perception sharpening vision and improved colour rendition providing brighter and more intense colours. This is particularly important for varifocals and highly curved lenses as it ensures they provide the best vision across the whole curvature of the lens avoiding optical distortions that can occur in the periphery area of vision. Recommended if your prescription is over 2 spheres.
Reactiv Performance -These are Photochromic lenses developed by Julbo. They are a state-of-the-art, high contrast, light reactive lens that changes lens tint density with the changing light conditions providing comfortable vision whatever the light intensity.Ideal for the mountains - mountaineering, skiing, trail running and climbing.
Lens Category Cat. 2 to 4. With a visible light transmission of 35% to 7%, they are ideal for wearing in cloudy to intense sunlight that can be experienced mountaineering or in desert environments. Not suitable for driving.
Specification:
Specialists in optical protection in risk environments, Julbo became part of mountaineering history by proposing the first glasses to be used on glaciers. Since then Julbo has been working with highly demanding sports men and women to develop lenses that are perfectly suited to each type of use. These include collaboration with Team Julbo athletes (Enak Gavaggio, Franck Cammas, etc.) and professionals from the Ecole Nationale de Ski et d' Alpinisme (ENSA, the French National School of Skiing and Mountaineering) and the Ecole Nationale de Voile (ENV– the National Sailing School), technical advisers for the development and refinement of the products. With such collaborative assistance, Julbo generates innovations each year, developing new frame concepts to meet new sporting requirements.
An independent family-run firm, Julbo was founded in 1888 by Jules Baud. Since then they have emerged as a manufacturer of multi-sport eyewear for elite outdoor athletes as well as mainstream users, they are also an acknowledged leader in children's sunglasses - eyewear that incorporates world-renowned optical quality with a new, bold sense of style. Today Julbo can be found all over the world; from the mountains, to the sea, to the dessert and even in the high street!
